Ready, Set, Go!
The secret to Canary Beach Resort is in our name! Your
family can always find privacy somewhere on the resort's
1000 feet of sandy beach. Since 1920, our guests have stated
that we have the finest beach in the Pope County area. This
groomed lake front is ideal for sand castle building
contests or to just relax in a lounge chair while reading a
good book and digging your feet into the sand. As you do so,
you can watch your children and/or spouse slide down the 18
foot FreeFall Water Slide!
Guests of all ages enjoy our Lake Water Park. Attached to
the slide is a 16foot Rebounder with Balance Log and
additional smaller slide. Power paddlers (personal
paddleboats) are also in our lake water park and are free
for all guests. New for 2012, is an AquaGlide Splash mat, an
18foot by 5foot flexible, slippery mat that's downright
wiggly with fun!
Located near our beach are a Rainbow Playground, swings,
horseshoes, shuffleboard, and sand volleyball. On Friday and
Saturday evenings (and by appointment), guests can enjoy a
25 minute hayride down quiet local roads, while observing
wild life in their natural environment. Deer, turtles and
Eagle's have been sighted.
If fishing is your calling, then
Lake Villard
is the lake for you! We are the only resort on this 536 acre
lake. There are many fishing hot spots and some of the best
fishing can be done right on our docks. You will have plenty
of excitement with your children as you teach them new
skills. Lake Villard is home for: northerns, walleyes, bass,
perch, crappies, and sunfish.
Guests can enjoy a leisurely ride around beautiful Lake
Villard on our pontoon. Fishing boat, motor, and canoe
rentals are available. Life Jackets are provided.
Enjoying a campfire adds to a traditional Canary Beach
Resort vacation. Fire barrels and campfire roasters are
available. Firewood is available at the lodge. We regret
firewood
cannot be brought onto our property in an effort
to
keep our trees safe from invasive species. Don't
forget to pack your marshmallows!
Office/Store has limited groceries, ice, bait, snacks,
ice cream, clothing, and souvenirs. Our game room is located
here with a pool table and free wireless internet. This is
also the home for our guest laundry.
Activities and Canary Beach Resort are synonymous! A week
is really not enough time to experience everything.
