MAY
May 10-12: Fishing Opener! Use of boat included with cabin rental, boats are limited. Discounted tickets to Minnesota Maritime museum in Alexandria over the weekend for each guest staying in a cabin.

May 17-19: Clean Up/Spiff Up weekend! Cabins are available 50% off the regular rate for all participating guests. Let us work together to kick off the summer! Jobs include, but not limited to: raking, scrubbing outdoor furniture, painting, staining log swings and playground, transporting wood, adopt the highway clean up, planting flowers, and more!

May 24-27: Memorial Weekend. Awake the Grapes at Carlos Creek Winery in Alexandria, features 5k/10k/1 mile races through the vineyards!

May 31- June 2: Father/Son Weekend. Thank your dad by bringing him to the resort for a fishing trip. There will be a hamburger meal served at noon on Saturday that is free for all guests staying in the cabins.

JUNE
June 7-10: Biking weekend! Everyone is welcome to bring their bike for a group bike ride on the Centennial Trail to Glenwood and back on Saturday!

June 15-22: Bingo! Bring a wrapped White Elephant gift (one for each player). Game will take place in the pavilion on Saturday evening of the 15th. All ages can play! Popcorn and lemonade will be provided.

June 22-29: Osakis Festival! Four day celebration starts on Thursday and includes: salad luncheon, senior citizen day, kids' events, flea markets and crafts, antique tractors, fire dept. water fights, street dance and grand parade.

June 29-July 6: Independence week! Villard hosts several events during the weekend, including a street dance, parade, breakfast and more! On July 4, there will be a Bike Parade through the resort. Decorations are provided in the pavilion for bikes, wagons, strollers and more!

JULY
July 6-13: Bird Lovers week! Birds know that Canary Beach Resort is the place to be during the summer! Discover the birds in the wildflowers in front of the cabins. Each cabin guest has the opportunity to make a homemade bird house or feeder.

July 13-20: Model Boat Week! Bring your Model boat and test/race it with Scott! One of his many hobbies includes model boats! Each cabin guest has the opportunity to make a children's wood boat! July 14-21st is also Sinclair Lewis Days in Sauk Centre, the Home of Nobel Prize winner Sinclair Lewis!

July 20-27: Waterama Festival in Glenwood July 24-28. The multiple day festival is located on the beautiful shores of Lake Minnewaska. This festival has a lot of excitement with 100-unit parade, kiddie parade, lighted pontoon parade, water shows, pageants, dances, sporting events, and running races.

July27-August 3: Crafters Week! Christine loves crafts and making homemade items. Make a souvenir with her during the week! Art in the Park is going on and is a free event that takes place at Alexandria's City Park on July 27 and 28. Features local and regional artists with food vendors located throughout the park along with three different musical locations. Stearns County Fair in Sauk Centre is happening July 31st -August 4th.

AUGUST
August 3-10: Salute to Iowa and Birthday Week! Everyone has a special day, let's celebrate! Resort birthday party in the pavilion on Friday! Pope County Fair, which is located in Glenwood is August 7-11.

August 10-17: Musical/Talent Week! Bring your voice and instruments and join in with a resort sing along by a campfire during the middle of the week! Also, on the evening of August 10th, there will be a talent show complete with stage! So practice your act or comedic routine! Popcorn and lemonade will be provided for audience members! Douglas County Fair is going on August 15-18 at the Fairgrounds!

August 17-22: Boaters Week/Moon Lovers Week! Free half day pontoon rental with cabin rental. Also, discover the astronomer inside you; August 20th there will be a full moon!

August 22-25: Halloween in August on the 24! Decorate your cabin, camper or tent and watch the goons and goblins come. Theme related treat, stories, and movie in the pavilion afterwards.

August 30-September 2: Labor Day Weekend. Potluck picnic for all our guests on Sunday. We provide the meat, plates, and utensils. Just bring a side dish, drinks for yourself and enjoy!

SEPTEMBER
September 5-8: Teaching outside the classroom! Let us explore science through composting, architecture by building sand castles, physical fitness by biking on the Centennial Trail and literature in the lodge with our own Mrs. Olschlager reading children's stories!

September 13-15: Grape Stomp/Romance Weekend. Carlos Creek Winery in Alexandria is celebrating their Annual Grape Stomp; featuring 10 live bands, chainsaw carving, glass blowing, comedian/juggler, Tina and Lena Performances, and more. Free bottle of wine with each cabin rental.

September 19-22: Family Weekend. Celebrate your family with hayrides, campfires, a movie in the pavilion and just being together with each other. Come see our area's beautiful fall colors!

September 27-29: Our farewell to the season party! Cabins are available 50% off the regular rate for all participating guests who help with one or more of the following: raking, mowing, putting away outdoor furniture, and adopt the highway clean up. There is a free chili feed on Saturday after dock work is completed.

OCTOBER
October 17-20: MEA Weekend/Applefest Enjoy a quiet final get-a-way, only six cabins are open year round, so reserve one today!

October 18th, there is a full moon, where we can take in its beauty with a late night hayride! On October 19th, Applefest is happening at Carlos Creek winery. This family event includes: pumpkin craving, catapult pumpkin throwing contests, horse drawn wagon rides, pie eating contest, lawn games, live music, wine tours and tasting!

NOVEMBER
November 8-18: Deer Hunting/Crafting Tour: With the abundant deer population in Pope County, our lake front cabins make for the perfect accommodations for any deer hunter! During November 7-9, there is also the annual Home Crafting Tour in Alexandria.
